The MySQL Backend Developer Certification validates practical relational database and SQL skills, including schema design, normalization, SELECT queries, joins, GROUP BY, HAVING, subqueries, CTEs, indexes, query optimization, stored procedures, triggers, transactions, ACID properties, constraints, foreign keys, referential integrity, and integration with back-end application code.

COITB exams are available online through remote proctoring from any U.S. location and most international locations, subject to proctor availability windows. In-person testing is also available at authorized COITB test centers.
